UroLiftâ„¢

The UroLift™ System procedure can be performed as a same-day outpatient procedure, including the office setting, under local anesthesia. Patients typically return home with no overnight stay and no catheter required after treatment.  Here's how it works:

Enlarged Prostate

An enlarged prostate can narrow or even block the urethra.

Step 1

The UroLift™ Delivery Device is placed through the obstructed urethra to access the enlarged prostate.

Step 2

Small UroLift™ Implants are permanently placed to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way.

Step 3

The UroLift™ Delivery Device is removed, leaving an open urethera to improve flow and provide lasting BPH symptom relief.

Robotic Surgery

When performing surgery with the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, we use miniaturised surgical instruments that are placed in the abdomen through a series of one to two centimetre incisions. The miniaturised instruments are mounted on three separate robotic arms. Each instrument has seven degrees of freedom, giving the surgeon a wide range of motion and unparalleled precision.

A magnified high-definition 3-D camera, is mounted on a fourth arm, also under the surgeon’s control.

The surgeon controls the surgical instruments and the camera from a control centre, known as a console, which is located in the operating room. From the console, the surgeon can control all four arms of the Da Vinci simultaneously.

What is a Da Vinci Surgical System?

Da Vinci Surgical Systems are comprised of three components:

Surgeon Console

This is where your surgeon sits during the procedure, has a crystal-clear 3DHD view of your anatomy, and controls the instruments. The tiny instruments are “wristed” and move like a human hand, but with a far greater range of motion.

Patient Cart

The patient-side cart is positioned near the patient on the operating table. It is where the instruments used during the operation move in real time in response to your surgeon’s hand movements at the surgeon console.

Vision Cart

The vision cart makes communication between the components of the system possible and provides a screen for the care team to view the operation.

Robotic-assisted urologic procedures:

- Prostatectomy (prostate surgery)

- Partial and Total Nephrectomy (kidney surgery)

- Pyeloplasty (surgery to relieve kidney blockage)

- Cyst Removal (surgery to remove cyst from kidney)

- Ureteral Implantation (fix the tubes that connect the bladder to the kidneys)

Laser Treatment

Introducing Moses 2.0 laser therapy, a revolutionary advancement in the realm of urological care, particularly in the management of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and kidney stones. This cutting-edge technology offers a multitude of benefits, revolutionizing traditional approaches to treatment. With Moses 2.0, patients experience reduced procedure times and enhanced precision, resulting in minimal damage to surrounding tissues and quicker recovery periods.

Moses Laser Technology

The unique characteristics of the Moses 2.0 laser ensure efficient stone fragmentation, leading to improved stone clearance rates and decreased risk of post-operative complications. Furthermore, its advanced capabilities allow for effective tissue vaporization in BPH management, providing patients with symptom relief and improved quality of life. Moses 2.0 laser therapy represents a paradigm shift in urological interventions, offering safer, more efficient, and ultimately more successful outcomes for patients dealing with BPH and kidney stones.
